Results

Kings Troop is famous for providing The Queens Ceremonial Saluting Battery, with six horse teams pulling the First World War thirteen pounder state guns that are fired in Hyde Park and Green Park on Royal anniversaries and state occasions.

The British Army is harnessing its horsepower to produce renewable energy. In one of the more unusual applications, Glosfume has provided ceramic filters to control particulate and gas emissions from the Uniconfort biomass boiler at Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery to produce energy from the waste from up to 150 horses stabled at Woolwich Barracks.

The Glosfume ceramic filter utilises our dry scrubbing process removing particulate and acidic gases meeting the requirement of the IED, formerly WID. They now burn 40 tons a week of waste bedding. Morgan Sindall manage the upgraded biomass boiler, providing hot water and heating to the barracks. In addition to green energy the process saves five lorry journeys through London every day and the cost of disposal of the waste. The Uniconfort biomass boiler system with ceramic filtration also complies with the RHI funding criteria.
