Situation / Problem
Waste wood boiler was failing local emissions standards
Solution
Retrofit – Glosfume high temperature filtration system fitted with ceramic elements
Benefits
Minimal rework required
Satisfied and exceeded emissions requirements
Removed particulates to 1.5mg/m3
Results
DFS are one of the largest furniture manufacturer and retailers in the UK. A Talbott hot water boiler had been supplied to burn waste wood produced by the factory to reduce landfill charges and provide effectively free hot water and heating for the site.
Unfortunately, the boiler system did not meet the stringent local emission standards so Glosfume were asked by CBRE Group to provide a retrofit high temperature hot gas ceramic filter solution which reduced the measured particulate emissions from 180mg/m3 to 1.5mg/m3. The ceramic filter fitted was able to handle a maximum flue gas flow of 3,750m3/hr at a temperature of 160oC.
