In operation, polluted gas from the combustion process enters the filtration unit and is directed towards a bank of ceramic filter elements.<\/p>\n<p>These elements are manufactured with a microporous surface finish, which is specifically engineered to trap submicron particles, including PM2.5. As the hot gas passes through the ceramic filter from the outside to the inside, particulates are captured on the outer surface of the element, while the cleaned gas continues through and exits the system. This process is highly effective even at elevated temperatures, with ceramic filter elements capable of operating at temperatures of up to 1000\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Over time, a layer of collected material, often referred to as a filter cake, builds up on the surface of the element. This layer can further enhance filtration efficiency. To maintain performance, the system periodically uses a reverse-jet pulse of compressed air to dislodge the accumulated particles.<\/p>\n<p>The removed material falls into a hopper below for collection and disposal, while the filter returns to normal operation.
